On this two-month mark on Substack I would like to welcome all 53 subscribers to the channel. It is a great treasure to find like-minded researchers and lovers who want to contribute to the betterment of society through independent investigation. It is my deep interest and passion to learn about all things from both wings of the bird, science and religion.
Today’s post is on a HOLY DAY, honoring a champion of selflessness, humility, kindness, love, justice, peace, and unity, and much more, ‘Abdu’l-Baha’.
Who is ‘Abdu’l-Baha’?
‘Abdu’l-Baha’ is the Center of the Covenant of Baha’u’llah, the Divine Educator for humanity for this age (https://www.bahai.org/).
In religious history, the station of ‘Abdu’l-Baha’ is unique and can be explored at more depth for those who may have interest.
For now, I would like to share a beautiful portrait of ‘Abdu’l-Baha’ called Exemplar, a film commissioned by the Universal House of Justice, the governing body of the Baha’i world, to mark the centenary commemoration of the passing of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá in 2021.
From https://news.bahai.org/story/1551/: The 55-minute film follows the life of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá and the profound effect He had on people both past and present. A sense of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá’s unique function as a shelter, a shield, and a stronghold for all humanity is captured in vignettes of some of the people whose lives were transformed through their association with Him.
Commemoration of the Day of the Covenant, 24-25 November 2024. Two days later, 27 November, is the Ascension of ‘Abdu’l-Baha’.
If this is your first time to hear of the Baha’i Faith, or if it is something you have learned about along the journey of your life, welcome to have a glimpse of a figure in history who has elevated humanity’s consciousness in profound ways by challenging the assumptions of society, among other ways, and is destined to do so for centuries to come.
For those who have a sense of beauty, I believe you might find the documentary’s cinematography and artistic presentation quite exquisite.
A few writings by ‘Abdu’l-Baha’:
The Prophets of God are the first Educators. They bestow universal education upon man and cause him to rise from the lowest levels of savagery [cruelty, brutality] to the highest pinnacles of spiritual development.
The Promulgation of Universal Peace, p. 84-85
The pathway of life is the road which leads to divine knowledge and attainment. Without training and guidance the soul could never progress beyond the conditions of its lower nature, which is ignorant and defective.
The Promulgation of Universal Peace, p. 296
What insights have you come to on the pathway of life? Welcome to share.
